Depends on the Bank, and how much they value referrals. Generally, a referral from a VP, MD, etc., means more to someone in HR than from an analyst. Both are helpful to have, and you want as many people as possible that will vouch for you, regardless of position in the firm.
In my experience, a referral from a MD means that someone in HR will see your resume for sure, and they will most likely give you an initial 15-20 minute phone call to inform you more about their programs and get to know more about you. Usually, if someone higher up refers you, you will get an interview of some sort, most likely a first round. Obviously it might be different for some, but in my experience, this has been the case 4/4 times.
I’m not too sure how it works in regards to hirevue, but I’m assuming they’ll still look at your recorded answers to get to know you better. Usually hirevue is a way for people to get noticed by talent acquisition for doing a good job at answering their questions, and helps HR filter out candidates because a firm like MS doesn’t have time to schedule thousands of first round phone calls.
Without a referral, hirevue is a way for ppl to get a first round, so if you already have the referral your hirevue probably won’t be used/evaluated by MS a lot.
I would still prep a lot and continue to network. A referral can get your foot in the door but you’ll still need to do well in your interviews. Best of luck!!
ED level should def get you the first round, but def don’t rely on it. Keep your ED updated as the interview goes but still prep like you don’t have a referral at all. Best of luck to you!
You have to understand that referrals can't get you the job. Anyone who gets through the resume screening gets hi revue (aka most people), so I would basically rule out the fact that you have a referral. Trust me many people will have similar levels of referrals, so the matter at hand for you is to crush these interviews and network your ass off within MS to keep your name on the top of the pile. They will give you the interview if you did well on hirevue, nothing more or less. I wish you the best!
Look kid I get you’re worried but you’ve posted this question as 3 separate threads and then when ppl give you an answer you don’t like you try to argue and defend your situation waiting for someone to give you an answer you do like saying everything is going to be 100% okay and you will for sure get hired.
The truth is no one knows what will happen. Hirevues are important though, no way around it. At this point it’s done though, nothing you can do now but wait and see what happens

Dude a lot of people already explained to you in a different thread that the referral won’t get you the job. You will have to pass all interviews.
You are so weird. You changed your nickname and created a different thread.

Why don't you ask the person who referred you?
