Does Coverage offer bad exit opps?
It seems that all the trolls here always claim that those analysts in product groups get better exit opps/placement than coverage analysts.
From those with experience and first-hand knowledge, is that true?
Is there anything wrong with an analyst in an industry group who gains exposure to all types of products and transactions?
(im interested in all possible exit opps: pe hf cd)
thanks monkeys
yes that's true assume that 30% of all SA get rejected.. of those 30%, a portion > 80% comes from coverage teams...
Maybe getting an offer correlates with exit ops? Like Getting offer = bettter chances at PE, Not getting offer = worse chances at PE?
You'd expect that tho. Top guys want product groups and place into them - less probability they won't be invited back. Also, way more coverage summer analysts than product.
What expertise do product group analysts have that coverage analysts lack?
So are you implying that, if your performance level is equal in both scenarios, you have a greater chance of not getting an offer by being in a coverage group for the summer vs. a product group?
