Does the Undergrad degree/location matter as much as the MBA does in ibanking?
So I'm a Junior in HS, trying to create a loose pathway for myself to becoming an ibanker so I at least can have some expectations. From what I understand, I need to get an Undergrad first, which can be in anything apparently, but being its being Fin/Econ will give me a "slight" edge. How much does Undergrad even matter? Then, I need to get an MBA. I know that target schools increase your chances to get interviews/internships. Do you need to go to a target school for the Undergrad, MBA, or both? It seems like the MBA is the most important, but wouldn't both be better? Also, what are these Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 terms I keep seeing about MBA applications? I'm really confused by this whole process/roadmap to get from HS to IB. Thanks for your input. I'm trying to increase my chances and learn more in any way I can.
HS --> Undergrad at preferably "Target School" --> Summer Analyst Junior year --> Full Time Investment banking analyst --> 2-3 years later MBA at top school ---> IB Associate
Jesus people start young these days. Don't think I even knew what IB was in high school.
