Drake Star Partners LA - Thoughts?
Lucky to get an offer with DSP M&A for this summer (sophomore internship). I’ve read god and bad stuff about DSP on this site but none are LA-office centric. Anyone in the LA banking scene have any thoughts on this boutique?
Unfortunately most (all?) of recruiting for SA 2023 is wrapped up so not sure how I can leverage this experience for next summer (my goal is EB in LA / SF / NYC).
It does seem like the firm will give me great exposure to tech banking and the group seems nice.

Yes -- why, was it normal for interns in the past to not be paid?
It was really toxic culture. Close friends interned there. You could count on standing in copy room and print for literally 5 hours, toxic jokes, heavy workload, etc
This is the LA office? My experience with my interviewers has been really positive but comments like this do worry me. I have heard similar for NYC / LON offices though.
