Early VP promo timeline

Currently an Aso at a BB but have an unusual timeline. Have been in IB since 2021. I was supposed to be promoted to Aso at my prior bank in 2024, but was held back due to budget/headcount constraints after lateraling, so wasn’t officially promoted until 2025 despite technically playing the role.

then spent ~1 year in PE before returning to banking, where my new bank reset me to Aso1.

Just received very strong mid-year reviews, with multiple reviewers saying I’m already operating at the VP level..

I’d really like to pushing for VP at year-end. Seems wild given my technical title but based on my actual experience I’d be ~3 years removed from when I originally should have made Associate.

Has anyone seen an “accelerated” promotion like this at a BB? Is it realistic / any advice on how to approach? Given based on my tenure in banking I should be a VP next year + my experience and performance
