ER to IB
Currently a 3rd year ER analyst at a BB and up for a promotion to associate by yearend. Interested in making the leap to IB within the same bank. Does it make sense to wait until I get the promotion, or should I make the transition asap? Conscious that my years of experience may be discounted if I move as an analyst.
Also how competitive would I be vs others applying from different banks? For context, I cover NR currently and have worked on a good number of deals over the last three years.
Appreciate any ideas.
Just curious, why the switch? Are you looking to exit to PE eventually?
I only ask cause I was thinking of doing the opposite (IB to ER).
