Etiquette in a bar interview

Yesterday, I went to a third interview and he grabbed me from the office and we went to a bar. We sat down, I was waitting for him to order first but he asked me, so I was wondering to order water or alcohol. I was afraid of ordering water because I think the reason we went there is to see how I am in an informal environment and not a stiff - so I ordered a beer. To my surprise he ordered water.

Did I just blew my chances and what should I have done pre and post ordering?

thank you

I think you did fine. What tool goes to a bar and just orders a water. As long as the rest of your interview went fine then relax.

Was this a legit bar or Chili's or something. If a bar then I think you did the right thing.

Anyone that disagrees with (1) Beer being ordered I want to hear the logic. I mean 2 guys at a BAR ordering water looks fishy.

you're good dude..he ordered water after you ordered a beer to try and make you uncomfortable..(which im sure you initially felt uneasy)..but if the rest of your interview went well then relax..you will definitely not be penalized for ordering a beer..at least in my experience

Next week i guess. Honestly I am not worried about that as I am worried about my other interview I had yesterday with another analyst. The interview went great - I don't think I ever had such a good interview. But I think I did a pretty big mistake, when they asked me if we offer you the job tomorrow when could you start (I am currently employed), I said that I would need to give a 2 weeks notice to my employer but also I would need to have a answer from the other 2 banks I am interviewing with (I told them before that stage that I am interviewing in the other banks).

I was just trying to be honest and nothing else but now I could see how she could have interpreted that in a different way.

The good part is that after they heard which banks and which sectors they tried to sell me why the bank and sector in their bank would be best for me.

I just hope that it doesn't affect their decision.

What do you guys think? (actually I am gonna post this as a new question)
