Man, thank you so much for site. Good stuff indeed.
It seems to me that they are quite academic and far from what you would see in the real world..
on a cursory glance, gotta agree with 1gin - way too academic
ic you got it off doostang
thats what i said
How do they compare to the damodaran models and what do you mean by too academicmore specifically?
Sweet site, thanks for the post.
Thanks for the link. This is very interesting stuff.
Why does any kid pre-employment need any sort of lbo model? it will never, NEVER, come up in any sort of an interview situation, and no kid will have the capital to transact any scenario that seems to be cash flow positive. I am about to start my full time position in July, never once glanced at any sort of an lbo model. DCF is another topic, but that is not necessarily difficult to come up with, forecast your your cash flows and discount them back, no need for any generic model, create your own. you kids are all worrying about shit that you have absolutely no business worrying about
thank you!! good collection. of course some staff here is a little bit too academic, but it's not a problem as it will at least give u ideas for working with a real situation
thanks for sharing! it's nice to see some 'real world' templates.
Hey sorry for bumping such an old thread but I was curious to know how long it would take a seasoned Wall Street analyst to come up with one of the models that lui posted. I was taking a look at it and its 10x more legit than what we did in my corporate valuation class (well that's expected I guess) and that took us a whole night to make. Thanks
First off, these are nothing compared to the BB models.
The longest part is building out the operating portion (i.e. projecting out the business). We use a high level of detail. Some smaller shops won't.
But, you start with the same template and then just tweak the inputs. Whether you have a Citi or UBS model, they are going to be virtually the same, just laid out a bit differently. So, after building the operating model and linking into the LBO, you just need to enter the beg. BS, working capital, and debt tranches.
Yea I second curious. It would be good to know
Are those citi or ubs models as neat / tidy as those academic ones? or its full of hardcodings and messy linkings?
