Exit Opps Considerations for Secondaries Advisory?

I have a buddy who currently works for Evercore PCA (PE secondaries advisory) - just curious what are his exit opportunities? He mentioned that many of the senior analysts go on to secondaries shops. Is he limited to only those options?
