If you want anything reputable, you will need to lateral to a BB/EB/MM. Someone recently made a thread about SMBC exit ops and I'm not assuming you're the same person, but you need to be real with yourself. Work your ass off for 8 months - 1 year and network hard. Super easy to lateral in this market
Do you think it’s more optimal to look for a lateral switch after SA program, or to (pending getting FT return offer) work for few months FT then lateral?
If you can, recruit for FT. Network your ass off during your summer internship with specific groups that you like. Study up on technicals, why that bank, etc. IMO FT interviews (assuming non-CVP/LAZ/MoCo) are not that hard if you come off as chill/polished/pass the airport test.
Appreciate the help. Thank you.
