Fintech startup --> m7 MBA --> BB/EB IB?
Hi all, I currently have an offer to join a top fintech startup in the finance team, and wanted to ask if there is any way I could leverage this stint for MBA IB recruiting? Thinking about this in terms of spinning a coherent "why IB" story and somewhat related pre-MBA experience. I got admitted to Booth's MBA program under the deferred admissions round for college seniors so my seat there is already secured. I just need to gain ~2 years of full-time experience to satisfy the enrolment requirement. Would appreciate any advice or insights, thank you.
How were u able to secure a deferred spot ?
Some entrepreneurship thing I did in college.. started a small "company" that I think stood out in terms of the diversity factor in admissions
It sounds like you’re asking whether a fintech startup makes sense when answering “Why IB?”, but you’re looking at it from the wrong angle: can you speak on why you wan to enter IB? What is you answer to that question today? Separately, what is interesting to you about working for a fintech startup?
It certainly won't hurt you as a background for IB recruiting, but MBA recruiting is much more flexible about prior backgrounds.
Very helpful for fig and tech recruiting. Would align my mba recruiting strategy w how each bank covers fintech.
