Fitting in with firms and their culture/stereotypes
Good evening all, Im a dude who is currently (but far away) trying to break into Investment Banking. Im trying to figure out where I'd be a good fit. Does anyone have any insights on the culture at the BB, EB, and MM banks specifically? Does anyone also have the stereotypes of banks and the stereotypes of people who work there, kind of like how Goldman had a lot of guys that go into politics/government, hence the nickname "Government Sachs"
Best Regards,
Don’t rlly know any analyst at GS that are interested in government. Ppl that call GS government Sachs are the same plebs that think Blackrock and vanguard run the world.
There’s so much churn at these places there rlly isn’t a stereotype besides three main buckets: Nerdy, fratty, preppy. U can’t rlly go by banks u have to go by groups. U only rlly know by networking
That's unfortunately what I was thinking but I know stereotyping banks as a whole is easier than specific groups, thank you for the helpful advice, hopefully I'll find somewhere I belong/fit in.
