Fly over or Video Chat for Interview

I have a final  interview coming up. They said they would like me to do the interview onsite, but video chat is fine as well. Is there any benefit of doing the interview onsite (or any disadvantage doing it online)? The flight would be 8 plus hours.

You should definitely consider going down to interview in person. Going to the office will give you a better feel of culture and what the team is like. You'll also be able to get a feel of the city if it's a new area for you. It will also give your potential employer a better feel of you and will put you on a level playing field against anyone local who may be interviewing against you.

Is the firm paying for you to meet in person? Should be a no-brainer if so.
