Follow Up Advice

I was lucky enough to have a phone call with a senior managing director at a local boutique last week. I told him that I would follow up with him early this week, and did so on Monday morning. I haven't heard back yet, and I know that it hasn't been a long time since I emailed him. However, we were talking about meeting this coming Friday when I would be back in my hometown.

Do I email him again or just be patient and wait?

Email him thurs and then again fri morning.

Best bet is to shoot him an email on Thursday evening if you don't hear from him. Thank him again for the invitation to meet on Friday and that you wanted to confirm the best time to meet him at his office.

This is a tricky one because you don't want to be a pest so give him as much time as you possibly can to respond to your email from Monday. I would take the slightly aggressive approach of assuming that you are still meeting on Friday because I like people to know I have persistence.

Try not to make it pushy, but make the assumption that you are meeting him and that might give him the push he needs.

Don't wait - be persistent and respectful. Thursday morning (not afternoon/evening to give him time to fit you in) send a quick follow-up along the lines of:

Hi XYZ,

Hope you're having a good week. Just wanted to quickly follow-up and see if you are still available to meet tomorrow. If there is a time that is convenient, would love to speak with you further and can be flexible to a time that works best for you.
