Following up before a networking call

I'm currently a first year trying to network for summer internships. Reached out to Linkedin and spoke to a few analysts at a decently sized fund, eventually was referred to a director whom scheduled a call later this week. Given that this call was scheduled last thursday for this Friday, should I do a quick follow up in case he forgets?

Thinking something along the lines of "Hi XXX, hope you're having a great week so far. I've prepared some questions and I'm looking forward to speaking with you on Friday."

It depends on how you scheduled the meeting with him in the first place. If he sent you a link with available dates and you selected one for a Zoom call for example, then it's fine. If it just was a short "let's have a meeting next Friday", then I'd say you should drop him a short message. It might even show that you're a serious candidate :)
