For those of your early in your careers (under 4 years), you are about to live through a BOOM economy

Lina Khan will be gone.

GOP has all 3 branches and will push through pro business law

For those of you that were too young to work through the trump boom get ready to have your linkedin inboxes be indundated with daily requests to lateral from recruiters or move into a new industry at high comp..

so happy for a lot of you.  unless you are on a work visa, then you most likely will have to go home.

Terrible take. The US should be looking to attract and keep skilled international workers in critical industries, while curtailing illegal immigration. Both can be true. Trump himself came out a while back saying foreign graduates should get a green card. Otherwise you end up with situations like Erdal Arikan.

gee i can't wait

gee i can't wait

Edit: MS for objectively reporting Trump's policy proposals is crazy. not a cult i swear

It may be shocking to hear this, but most academics lean left and aren't happy about the election.

God, you bozos are just so incredible. 25-100-% tariffs across the board while at the same time we rack up all-time-high deficits, in part to fund a $300bn expulsion of 13mm cheap migrant laborers that perform vital services you don’t want to do, while also paying taxes and not claiming corresponding social benefits. Can’t believe you morons are entrusted to tend to peoples’ financial affairs. Read a fucking book.

Enjoy the sugar high while it lasts everyone. The economy will go boom before the inevitable excess and hangover from mismanagement by financially illiterate dickheads and a six-times bankrupt entertainer with a spray tan blows everything up again. Hopefully you all can pillage the material and cultural wealth of this nation enough to slake your tremendous thirst before the well dries up for good and you dump the externalities on the bag holders and stufees. Fuck them, you got yours - that’s all that really matters is the sad truth of it. I used to think we were better than that, but we’re not - just a bunch of asshole crabs in a bucket heading for a fate we deserve.

So go ahead, leave your senses at the door and dive on in. The water’s warm, enjoy yourself while you can. We’re at the end of Pax Americana and I’m not holding my breath that a Cincinnatus emerges, because it’s now clear that too many of us are too stupid, decadent, soft greedy and easily manipulated to produce leadership like that anymore.

I'm super hyped but funny enough, I'm still conflicted on how his election impacts my job search in healthcare. M&A is definitely going up in the next 2 years but I think putting Robert Kennedy near anything health related is beyond stupid. Vivek is a wayyy better option to become involved in regulatory healthcare (although there may be some conflict of interests - not sure how involved he is with the company he founded, Roivant). Q1 hiring in pharma / biotech / medtech tend to be solid and I have no clue how these companies are viewing the new presidency. If you're a healthcare payor / provider though, you're beaming - less regulation and higher likelihood of more vertical integration via acquisitions without Lina Khan (even more so when the rates will be significantly lower by the end of 2025).

But overall, we're so back! Very happy with the outcome.
