For those who entered IB post-MBA, are you happy with the decision to do so?

I’m currently debating doing an M7 MBA and entering banking. Will be late 20’s upon graduation and starting as an associate.

For those who moved to NYC as a post-MBA associate, how big of a shock was it? I’m from the south and drive to get everywhere. Not having a car would be entirely new for me.

How are/were the hours? Did they improve as you progressed?

If you left banking after entering as an associate post-MBA, why?

I went the same path after a number of years in corporate finance. My only regret was not doing it sooner, but it really depends on what you’re looking for.

the internship and first ~year really suck but after that it just keeps getting better and better.

great learning experience, get responsibility a lot quicker than you would in corporate finance and quicker more defined path to promotion. Also work is a ton more interesting

you have to come in wanting to learn your bosses job. If you do and find a group you click with, it’ll be a great experience. If you don’t actually want to learn the job, it will be miserable.
