For those who work in financial/operational structuring, why did you want to work in this space and what are you long term goa

I am recruiting for a smaller operational RX shop but am interested in moving to the HL, Evercore and Lazards of the world down the road. Eventually I am interested in working in debt private equity (ideally emerging markets) looking at potentially real estate or education from a social impact perspective. While I have read a number of different posts on this forum on RX, I dont think I have seen one dedicated to one's story. Care to share?
