Foregoing Signing Bonus - Negative Implications?
Hi everyone. I just wanted to ask for WSO's opinion on whether foregoing signing bonuses sends a negative signal to the firm that you summered in, especially if it is a smaller place (50 people).
I was fortunate enough to receive a FT offer from the bank that I summered in. However, I am still looking around at other options, which, if I seriously want to pursue, will entail me foregoing the signing bonus deadline. I am afraid that if I do end up going back to the firm I interned in, that they will have a negative perception of me, as they will most likely know that I was shopping my offer.
take the bonus. you will just be asked to pay it back if you leave.
