Freshman Opportunities in Atlanta

Hey there, new to the forum here. I'm currently a freshman interested in pursuing a career in IBD. I know its incredibly difficult to get a investment banking internship for freshman year summer, so would it be worth it to pursue other possible finance opportunities? I'm inquiring to see if anyone knows if Atlanta has any boutiques or PWM firms that would take on a freshman for the summer?

Also, what would be the protocol to informally approaching/ cold-emailing a employee of a firm in regards for a possible opportunity? thanks
