Gaming and Lodging Groups advice

Does anyone have a good understanding of Gaming and Lodging groups at BBs that could provide some guidance? Would like to do so through PM so I can walk you through my current role and education background. I’m looking to see how I’m currently positioned for it, and how I can better align myself through a graduate degree.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I don't have experience in this (still a student) but I did have the opportunity to network with a VP in RE, Gaming, and Lodging at an EB very recently. Unless you are lateral recruiting for an experienced position, the only thing that helps is interest in that group and networking. the reason being analysts and generally associates all do the same things across groups for the most part, so knowledge only helps in a conversational regard. maybe learning some of the specific technical stuff might help a bit but at a BB, I personally would think you're better off just studying the traditional technicals and getting an offer before you focus on group placement. your interest (and hopefully knowledge) can certainly help with networking with group members which in turn will contribute to getting an offer and subsequent placement into that group if you do well.
