There’s one or two analysts in my group who we joke about that they carry the dealflow. Like legit, these are 2nd years who have signed MF offers and you would expect to be checking out like the rest of us. But nope, these kids are grinding nonstop on multiple live deals, still working brutal hours, weekends, etc.

If we didn’t have those kids and the staffings were distributed then the rest of us would be miserable.

Yeah, one kid on my team.

18 months ago when he started didn’t know what a DCF was.

I walk by his desk on Thursday and the guy is walking a partner of one of my MF PE clients through a liquidity analysis of one of their portfolio companies. He’s cool as a cucumber and the client is eating it up. He knows more about that business than any of the moron associates and principals at the fund. Rock star.

Are A2s allowed even to do this? Is this at an EB?

I could not imagine this happening at my firm - the associates or VPs would do it (this is with the assumption the A2 does the work and Aso/VP present).
