If you have time in Israel cross the border at eilat into jordan and see petra. It's impressive and because of the troubles not many people around (only 3 other ppl on whole site when I was there minus an archeological dig) so you don't feel like a tourist. In israel go to the dead sea and mosada. In istanbul take a ferry, dirt cheap and best views. Also find a terrace bar at night time, great views of old city. I lived in that area for a long time so pm if u want to know anything.

Damn it. I really thought Petra was some amazing prostitute! Turns out it's just a place.
