Goldman Industry Groups - Just accepted a SA offer

I just accepted a general SA offer with GS.

I don't have an expertise in a specific industry so I am looking for some information about the different groups.

Real Estate and Natural Resources are out of the question b/c I feel these are too specific. Most of my interviewers have reached out to me explaining their group, but I am interested in some of the opinions on here.

If you want to pick an industry group that you can easily understand, then I would recommend Consumer/Retail or Industrials. In my opinion, those are probably the easiest business models to understand and the C/R group at Goldman is well regarded (not sure about GS Industrials).

Pick an industry you are interested in. If you aren't interested in anything specific, pick TMT. With TMT, you can go different directions. Tech (High Growth, Fast Moving, VC Exits?) Media (Very interesting, consumer orientated, transferable skills, tangible industry), Telecom (Very consumer oriented business models, transferable to other subscriber based industries, a little technical, also lower growth land line (CLEC RLEC) companies).
