Solid MM PC firm, not up there with the super big players but a very good player in the space and a good place to be as an associate. Know a few folks there, and they seem to like it.
They're considered the gold standard when it comes to mid market. For large cap the gold standard is Ares and Blackstone.
Aren't basically all the large cap players pretty good? Like HPS, Sixth Street, Blue Owl, Apollo, Sixth Street, Oak Hill, Oaktree? Or are Ares and Blackstone steps ahead of those guys.

I saw on a few posts there's a skills assessment in the golub interview process. Anyone else have color on that or know if other PC firms do this as well?
Yes, there is a skill assessment during the interview process, but that's only when you receive an offer. Its not to determine whether you're a good fit for the role. It's more so focused on to determine your strength and weakness, and it'll help your manager develop your IDP. Hopefully that was helpful.
