Rounding to 3.8 likely wouldn’t hurt. In my experience:

-Lazard wants >3.75
-Bx takes anyone with a pulse
-Real “top firms” (GS, JPM, BNP Houston, etc) don’t care about GPA at all. They use advanced linear regressions to derive your IQ (idea quality) from your social media accounts. To determine your IQ, they usually look at twitter, formerly known as X, first (are your tweets insightful?). If you don’t have twitter, they may look at Insta (do your “liked posts” indicate you notice patterns/are a noticer?). Finally, they may try to find your Supercell account (mainly to look at Clash of Clans base layout). They might even invite you to their company clan if you’re good.

This last point may sound hard to believe, but it happened to me once. I kid you not, 3 days after I applied to KKR, I received a clan invite from the “KK Klan.” I obviously joined. Unfortunately, I did poorly in Clan Wars that week, and 2 months later I got an email from KKR saying I didn’t get the job.
