GPA big factor

Hi, I am a sophomore and go to the University of Michigan. I'm majoring in Econ, while taking some classes at the Ross School of Business. Currently my GPA is around a 3.2/3.3. If I wanted to get an internship at a MM or BB will this GPA be looked down upon in your opinions? Also, what are your opinions on the DealMaven Courses. I want to take level one over the summer. Will already having financial modeling knowledge (once I complete the DealMaven course) impress internship recruiters, possibly making up for my mediocre GPA?

mrlover1gpa very min stat. know intern at GS TMT 2.9 non target.

You have to be really connected to pull that off, otherwise, there is not a thing you can do by yourself to even get considered in that situation.

actually the person got in through connections. the funny thing is that it wasn't family or anything like that. It was consistent hounding of a particular MD and the person was given a chance to prove themselves and did well.

you just have to really hustle and hope the opportunity comes for you to prove yourself.
