GPA for top IB opportunities (GS/MS/JPM/EB I guess)

Rising sophomore at target school wondering if I should take classes this summer to bring my GPA up. Current sitting at a 3.60 and I know I could get it to a 3.75 by Jan 1 and a 3.80 by mid-March if I take classes this summer. I know I can do this as my 3.6 is a result of a lot of tough classes and I would take classes that I'm guaranteed to get As in if I decided I have to bring my GPA up.

I know GPA is far from everything, but I have also heard a lot of IB application screeners discard any resume under a 3.8.

Also, I'm sure that there are great positions out there for me and my fellow 3.6ers but I also would like to be sure I have as many opportunities as I reasonably can as I start recruiting this year.

Tbh really don't want to go to classes this summer. How hard and fast are GPA cutoffs?

Asking as someone who doesn't know a lot about the recruitment process. Thanks for any advice.

Not sure about the situation at your school, but I've found that it's difficult to scope out "easy A" classes because there's always a risk you'll get a crappy prof or ta who grades unfairly, so definitely don't stretch yourself too thin. Also 3.75 is effectively equivalent to 3.8 after rounding
