Graduating December, Job Offer July, Should I start early?

Hey guys,

I took an extra semester and will be graduating in December with a full-time offer at a BB in their markets division starting in July 2021. Pre-covid (and even still considering with fewer cases in August) I was planning on using the time from Dec-July to travel and have fun before starting work, but I really do not think that is feasible now.

To make a long and dragged-out post short, should I ask my job to start early because covid is ramping back up?

you can still travel - i travelled a bunch this summer. while there are restrictions, you can still enjoy yourself and make the most of it. you also wont get many other chances in life to travel extensively and enjoy it. you will be working for the next 20+ years at the least, right? may as well take this time to relax and enjoy life

I've seen this situation a fair number of times and have never seen anyone who has decided to take 6-months off and not start early come back later on in their career to say that have regretted it. The truth is that these periods of time are very rare and just don't come along too often. Take the time to do domestic travel, explore your hobbies (or pick up new ones), spend more time with your loved ones, read more, introspect a bit, learn more about yourself (and the world). Nothing is for certain but money is on you never looking back.
