Hi there,

I actually work for Greenhill's PCA group. We do fundraising and advisory for PE funds and sencondary transactions. We are currently raising for 5 funds at the moment (2 North American mid-cap buyouts, 1 Asian distressed, 1 North American distressed and a healthcare royalties fund). It's a great way to get into PE - one really gets to know the market well and one gets client interaction from the get go. LBO modelling is scarce but I'm only a 1st year analyst. There are 12 in the team in NY and 2 of us here in London (myself and an MD). Couldn't be happier about my job - awesome boss, great industry, good pay and the Greenhill brand. Not sure if we're hiring at the moment but I'm presuming that we'll need more people here in London soon. Hope this helps.

Lucas - correct. Exactly the same skill set. The interview process is very much M&A orientated. I was applying for M&A and actually ended up in PCA by chance (much prefer it where I am - hours are better and actually learning about an industry that I see myself forging a career in). To apply for GHL as an analyst you have to go through the Cornell Partnership and they'll take you through the steps.
