Curious on group placement out of the NYC NRG team. Couldn't find much in past threads or brief LinkedIn search.

Career Resources
Pretty sure it's one of their top groups.
can anyone with actual knowledge chime in?
Definitely one of their best groups, but close to industrials in how hard they work - not much of an outside life
Can anyone else confirm if the above statement is accurate for associates? Is the group really a bit of a sweatshop?
Know a couple people that were analysts in NRG. Both got killed, legitimately were doing 110 hour weeks - during SA... But they also placed incredibly well, one at an MF, other at another top PE fund.
Each of my friends there spoke of how tough the lifestyle was. The culture apparently wasn't too bad (decent camaraderie, associates that weren't assholes), but of everyone I knew there I only saw one out of the office once and everybody had the thousand-yard stare.
Exits were strong, both within energy and beyond it. Apollo, Highbridge, Maverick, Starwood, Pershing Square, TPG ... just from checking profiles of people I know.
are these comments with respect to the NY natres group, or Houston.
Probably best culture of any of the industry groups, but yes they do work very hard. It's a great group.
had friend who interned in NR in Houston... long story short he's not going back.
What did he think of the culture and work?
he hated it. he's a senior now at a&m and i believe received several offers at EB's

Any thoughts on this group? Primarily where their analysts have placed, how they rank, etc.?
