Would the better GS SSG/MBD teams (now renamed under GSAM umbrella) position you better or worse off than starting out in GS IBD out of undergrad for a long term career in HF (or maybe PE)?

not sure how much flexibility they have w mandates post 08. Kinda killed the ssg guys and lots of those guys left and started their own funds. If you want to do large-cap buyout, why not go to a sponsor with more flexibility than GS?
