Harvard finance certificate

Looking for acquiring an online finance certificate from Harvard. I’m a student from non-target (good academic and outside of academic resume) looking to get into IB or wealth management. The certificate is worth $1,850 so I’m not sure whether to take it. Two questions regarding certificate: 1. Does it actually teach something valuable? 2. Do employers actually care about these certificates?

What are your thoughts? Thx

Maybe someone will disagree with me, but I personally think these are a waste of time unless your employer is sponsoring you for it.

A) given there are next to no admissions standards for these programs (aka they literally take anyone who pays money) it doesn't impress anyone. Worse, if it comes off as someone trying to loosely affiliate themselves with Harvard, it may even work against you

B) you are much better off taking a modeling or accounting class that gives you tangible skills for the job you want

would see it as a negative. these things are scams so it implies either you got scammed or trying to pass off a certificate for harvard (disingenous). both are bad
