Having Trouble Getting People on the Phone

Title says it all but I'll elaborate. Non-target, non-everything, blah blah blah I won't bitch and moan about it.


To be clear, I have had ~30 phone calls since Jan./Feb. so I don't think it's my approach style/email that has kept me from getting responses, but for the past ~10 days I have not been able to get ANYBODY on the phone, let alone respond.


Of course the answer right in front of me is the banking system's current predicament, but is there another reason I haven't been able to get any responses as of late? Is it because damn-near every MM/BB/EB has launched their applications and networking is a moot point this late in recruiting? My resume/GPA is solid but I know that if I don't get people on the phone and people to know my name that I won't get even one interview so I am a little stressed.


Fellow sophomores that think they know everything please chime in.

I mean you partially answered your question - (1) interviews are now ongoing and (2) many people have been busy with their own alma mater recruiting/whatever other school teams they're assigned to - visiting campus/responding to emails/scheduling calls. Personally didn't get many emails Jan/Feb and then I got inundated this month from current sophomores, some of whom I don't have time to respond to, never mind a student at a non-target (sorry if that comes off as harsh).

 

Fuck. Do you think there is really anything I can do to be effective about this at this point (e.g. emailing AN vs ASO vs VP, certain product/coverage groups)? I'm at a probably Top 40-ish (idfk how this works) university that doesn't get assigned/recruited. It's a state school but it's not obscure. I've had only one interview as of now but I am confident I can hang, I just need to get the damn interview.
