Healthcare SF Vs. Healthcare NYC Generalist

I'm a dual degree bio student at Wharton (east coast). I'm interested in the biotech space and would like to get an offer in IB. I'm quite neutral between a generalist/life sciences M&A offer, and I was wondering which one I have a better shot for.

HC SF Life Sciences Focus: I would assume kids from Stanford/the Bay Area have priority

NY Generalist: I would assume it might be harder for me to stand out from other generalist candidates. I have a solid generalist background (not too much healthcare experience) and I lean more on the finance side then the bio side for sure.

Ideally, I want to work in MFPE, so I would prefer a NY offer. That said, if the SF recruiting process is easier, I would prefer applying there. So, how would you strategically approach the recruiting process? Will applying to HC SF be an easier process for me? Or will it be harder due to the lack of allumni?
