HEC MiM vs Bocconi MSc Finance - targeting London M&A

Choosing between HEC MiM (PGE) and Bocconi MSc Finance. Targeting M&A in London.

Profile: Non-EU, math&econ background, no prior finance experience, B2 French, no Italian.

HEC case: Paris works as a fallback market, 2-year program with gap year flexibility means more bites at SA recruiting, placement into London seems to have been solid recently. Less technical than Bocconi MSF.

Bocconi case: Deeper London network, MSF carries more technical street credibility, significantly cheaper. Downside is the program is more markets-oriented, no gap year structure, and no Italian kills the Milan fallback.

Would appreciate any advice from people who've been through the process:

  • Who's actually getting looks from M&A desks in London out of these two programs right now?
  • Any difference in which banks recruit from which - EB/MM vs BB, coverage vs product, etc.?

Cheers.
