Laid off as Analyst, slightly lost
I recently got laid off Analyst 2 from lower tier BB ( probably because of lack of fit/ less deal flow - reasons were vague ). I managed to get a job in a fund but I realised that the sector cover is not my passion. My actual interest appears to be DCM/ bond issuance, which ironically i had the offer from the DCM team at the bank but decided to pass up on it for a different team. Now i feel stuck as breaking into DCM feels impossible. Things are slow at the fund i am at because the market isn't great. ANY advice as I am lost.
1. How long do i need to stay at the fund, where deals are slow? given my learning is low
2. How do i lateral into DCM when banks only recruit grads?
