[HELP NEEDED] Advice Needed for Potential Freshman Internship

I recently asked a small PE shop if I could have a 10-15 minute call/Zoom meeting to know their firm.

At the end, of course, I want to ask if they're hiring or thinking about getting an intern (hopefully me).

What should I do to prepare for these types of things as a freshman at a target who doesn't know anything? What types of questions should I ask, especially if it's a small PE shop (meaning there isn't much info online)?

Do I need to review behaviorals like my story or Why IB? Should I review the 400-question guide?

Any advice regarding turning a call into a freshman internship is greatly appreciated. Please give me some tips on the questions I should ask.

If you’re expecting an analyst internship you’re getting way too far ahead of yourself. You’re a freshman asking for information about their firm, not a senior in FT recruiting. I hate to burst your bubble but it’s highly unlikely you are going to be offered an internship at a PE shop as a freshman without having significant personal connections (family/close family friend)-even so, you will most likely be a paper filer because you don’t have the knowledge to actually be helpful to them.

Unless you have studied your ass and I mean ASS off and know LBO/DCF/3SMs like the back of your hand, there is no skills you bring to the table to be helpful to them (and you’re a freshman they aren’t expecting you to) besides doing back office grunt work.

My suggestion would be to continue fostering that relationship and utilize it after you have some solid coursework/experience under your belt.

Don't worry, my overthinking brain made me target firms, that I know for sure had some history of hiring freshmen. The firm I emailed hired some NYU stern people b4.
