Help!- Recent Grad Advice (CLT, DTX, HTX, TMP)

Hey guys,

I'm looking for some advice on breaking into the IB industry in the southeast, would love to hear what anyone has to say. I'm a recent grad with a Supply Chain Management Degree from a non target school with a current SCM role. Its been about 7 months and I've realized I want something more. I've landed some interviews and taken some certification courses (excel/ finance) but have realized those don't do much. My next step was going to take the SIE to prove my knowledge and show I'm invested, hoping to land an Analyst Role after passing it.

Should I be shooting for an internship instead? I've got internships on my resume but again, not in investment banking. Do companies ever hire interns on right after they finish?

If all else fails I'll probably head back to my alma-mater to get my MBA then repeat the process. I know this is probably the best option but I would rather wait until I have more work experience to go down that road.

Again, any and everything helps!

Thanks!

Also, going to target Boutique and MM firms. I know these qualifications don't put me in the running for top spots. Just looking for a way in the door!

I did the WSO one in college, it’s really long but the ones you would need the most are (valuation, DCF, excel modeling & financial statement modeling) if you take adderall you can crack those out over 2 weekends.

In regards to companies, just look for LMM boutiques within your state so I would search for example “investment bank - South Carolina” and go from there & connect and message their bankers on LinkedIn
