Help with course and uni decision (IB)

Bsc management with finance at Warwick business school or a humanities degree at either a semi target or Warwick. (For getting into IB)

My worry is that management with finance might be seen as a joke of a course whereas a humanities subject like law or politics might be better perceived.

I've been told that the only worthwhile finance related degree in the UK is from LSE. How true is this? Will I be fine?

Opinions and insights are greatly appreciated.

Course (within reason) doesn't make a huge difference candidly - I asked my own firm's HR about this and apparently it isn't a significant factor in ranking candidates. While there are far more interns with finance / economics / etc. type degrees, this is more a function of sample selection and the fact that students who know their way around finance might perform better in interview. Your university matters a lot more. I don't know how you're defining "semi target" or what that even means anymore, but take that into much greater account.

Your chances of getting into IB depend a lot more on your preparation and what you do at university.

Also, it's super important that you enjoy what you study (and are able to achieve at least a 2.1). If you're miserable with what you study or the city / university itself, that's going to be a drawback in your motivation to apply and study, so make sure you're choosing to study what you actually enjoy.

I appreciate  your comment as it has provided a lot to think about.

so just to double check, management with finance at Warwick business school vs PPE at either Exeter, Durham or even Warwick will make no difference in regards to breaking into IB (given I achieve the same grades and network the same)
