Closed 1 sale to financial and 1 sale to strategic within my first 8 months, along with working on many pitches in the background. Lots of weeks with very little sleep

A few things here:
Deal counts will be skewed based on where individuals hop in on a process. All that said, if you close 2 sell-sides a year I think that would be a pretty solid experience. This year I’m sure people will have more deals than that, but it’s an anomaly. It’s easy to get caught up in comparing with other analysts on how many deals they have done, but what you actually do in the transaction is your experience not the headline number of deals closed. I would much rather have a full modeling and outreach rep on a failed transaction than simply run back-end diligence for 2 transactions.

I accepted an UMM PE offer with 0 closed sellsides. I did however run entire processes for 2 deals that I had major contributions to model, outreach, and diligence even though the deals didn't end up closing.
