On buyside where they recently advised - HL and PJT are virtually interchangeable. IMO the biggest difference is that e.g. PJT is most commonly company/sponsor advisor with HL being mainly creditor side. Some prefer one over the other

 

INCORRECT. PROSPECT BEWARE. The best mandates at HL are interchangeable (if you're being generous) with PJT but it is a much larger group in terms of headcount and there is an emphasis on volume so it's possible to get some stinkers as an analyst at HL

 

This is not correct. PJT RSSG & EVR RX are virtually interchangeable for exits and career optionality and the two most respected RX groups on the street. HL still kills it for mandates but still lags behind a bit in quality. For everything and everything exits / prestige / career they are two completely different levels.
