Holding a presentation in banking
Hi,
are there any dos and dont's when it comes to holding a presentation in banking or don't they differ from e.g. those in consulting? In addition, is it actually common to hold presentations as an intern or at the entry level?

Generally you'll spend all your time making the book. Meetings dont typically have a presentation on screen. A senior will talk through the book in the meeting or on the call
What falls actually under "making" the book. Is an intern primarily in charge of the arrangement - i.e. gets a draft and has to bring everything in the correct format. Or does one actually start from scratch?
Depends on the project. If its a pretty boilerplate pitch, the vp or associate will list what should be included. If some of pages are a little more esoteric, I've seen the vp sit down with assoicate/analyst and draw some outlines of pages on pen and paper to give guidance on what they want. 90% of the slides are going to be things that exist, that you've made 100 times before and know how to build (profiles, stock price chart, benchmarking comps, APV, etc). Once you get guidance on the deck, you go build it. When I was summer associate, most of the projects i was on had a full time analyst or associate. We would split up the work, consolidate, and circulate. From there you're just turning comments until the final version. Hope this helps.
