How did Stern do this IB recruiting cycle?

Would love to hear how our favorite target school performed in comparison to its peers (Wharton & Harvard). But in all seriousness, been hearing some mixed feedback and would love to hear your guys' perspective on the school this year.

Pretty shit - lots of ppl didn’t place from my experience

Source: go to stern

What would you say the breakdown was for the people that recruited earnestly that landed BB/EB, MM, or not at all?

The people who tried hard day one got into BOFA/CITI at the very least with the median being top 3 BB and boutiques (also some buyside sprinkled in I think) I know we had one get Q as well.

Huge disparity after that tbh, some kids got mm and most got nothing afaik.

Basically top kids placed lights out and the rest fought for scraps.

they were all part of non-div. they were all US citizens. some of them had 0 clubs or 1 club MAX.

They don't have obstacles. They made their own luck by networking hard. I think networking is what really separated their apps from others because they did a really good job at it since they were super efficient and did a large sum of it.

Contrary to popular belief, schools with a large population gunning for finance and not enough prestige / OCR to compensate (Stern, Georgetown, Michigan, UVA) have poor outcomes for the average student. Sure, the top 10% of kids recruiting might place very well, but there is lots of luck involved.

In my opinion, if you have the option, it is better to go to a traditionally prestigious, smaller school like Dartmouth, Duke, UChicago, Northwestern, Brown, etc for recruiting. The average student at any of these schools places well and the name brand is very strong for the future.

Yeah lol. He lists a bunch of schools easier to get into than another bunch and says if you have the chance to go to the harder to get into schools go to those, as if that's some notable insight lol.
