How did you transition from an Intern and into a full time analyst?

I was curious to see what your transitioning process was like when moving from an internship role and into a full time analyst role.

Now I understand that for the majority of you in bulge bracket investment banking the transitioning process was a bit more fluid and predicable. Thus, I would appreciate responses from non traditional candidates in investment banking.

The reason being is because I got a great internship from a lower middle market bank and I am looking to turn this internship into a full time analyst role.
