How do you deal with sleep?

Hey all,

I’ve been having trouble falling asleep after working long hours and find that the quality of my sleep suffers when I work til 3a / 4a. The worst part is I still wake up at 8-9a even if I sleep late as my circadian rhythm seems to be set in stone. Also I struggle to “catch up” with sleep during the weekend.

I’ve tried melatonin, ZMA, and GABA.

Question: do some of you guys take anything to manage sleep? Or am I just built to suffer through IB.

Thanks.

No easy answer for this. Sleeping late and all will inevitably mess up the quality of sleep you get so the best you can do is make sure you stay hydrated and maximize sleep hours instead of going out or watching TV (just in case you do). With the hours you'll pull there's no real solution unfortunately

Stretching, slow breathing exercises, CBD, lowering the temperature and blacking out your room can go a long way. Any type of wind down ritual will require some time to take but eventually it signals to your body that it’s time to snooze. I also recommend a sunrise lamp to wake you up cause alarm clocks send you right back into hell. Goes without saying avoid too much coffee and addy late in the day. It starts to not help after a while anyway.

Idk if this helps, but keep in mind that whenever ur at bed, some rest, even if you're not sleeping, is more beneficial than no rest- that mentality helped me sometimes

develop a small health routine before bed (stretch and breath slowly). read instead of looking at a screen

What do you call an economist who forecasts? Wrong!
