How do you find time to recruit and interview?

For those of you who have jumped to other banks, how did you find time to recruit and interview with your new bank given your very busy schedule? Did you tell your superiors you're looking to leave or did you just completed the process without them knowing?

Schedule interviews in the mornings and be prepared to have a lot of “doctor’s appointments” or maintenance man visits.

When I lateraled, I would oftentimes put a Dr’s appt on my calendar and wait to see if conflicts arose.

If there were conflicts: “sorry I made this appt far out and can’t change.”

If there were no conflicts I would delete the appt and say I had to reschedule in case someone asked.

You’re leaving anyways, just be comfortable with being a little less reliable than normal.
