How does "one firm" approach at Centerview Partners work
Working in consulting considering doing an MBA to switch over to banking. Mostly interested in EBs, including CVP. CVP says on their website they take a "one firm" approach to deals. Does that mean that Associates are considered "generalists" between M&A and Restructuring? I ask because my main interest is M&A and trying to understand how I should approach next steps. Basically, what does a "one firm" approach mean at Centerview?
Don't work at CVP, and you probably are not going to get a lot of bites from CVP people. But I assume that this means that they offer the capacity to do any deal meaning you only have to hire "one" firm. Really I think its just some selling point they have on their website.
from what i gather from my close friend at cvp, it means that no one partner owns a relationship with a client and staffing resources are leveraged across offices if needed.
youre gonna find it fairly difficult to land an associate offer, fyi - they only just started hiring MBAs and there's a clear preference for A2As. my friend said their mba intern this summer is their first ever (unclear if just for their office or for all of cvp)
