How hard is it to break into investment banking from McCombs?
I am currently a junior in high school with a good GPA, rank, and SAT score in Houston. I think that I could get into McCombs or even BHP if I tried. I do not want to travel far away to an ivy school. I also don't know if I could get in. I was also thinking about going into medicine instead. However, I have little to no interest in it. How hard is it to break into investment banking from McCombs BHP? Should I try for ivy instead?
They have decent placement in Houston and NYC

I think it's pretty obvious that you should apply everywhere, get in, then evaluate.
Where should I do early decision?
Wharton. You can make IB from McCombs. It would help significantly to be in BHP.

McCombs is dominant in Houston. It also places reasonably well into NYC (not as well as Ivy's) and even somewhat onto the west coast.

Hi guys, I'm currently a sophomore student at McCombs looking to place in NYC for my junior year summer and hopefully full time. What are some-things I should be looking at/doing now so that I can increase my chances of landing an internship?
And just for reference, I'm not the typical UT student from Texas, I'm from the NYC/Tri-state area. Any help and or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
