How hard is it to lateral from SMBC?
Currently in SMBC coverage capacity and been trying to lateral but it's been very hard. Very few people out there who have done it successfully, so wanted to see if there were examples or advice from others who did it from similar banks.
There was an older post here that claimed that people from SMBC have been able to pivot to EB/BB, but I haven't seen a lot of evidence on LinkedIn to justify this.
I know of a handful of examples of people in LevFin and Sponsors at SMBC recently being able to pivot to BB and MM, but it definitely isn't a lot.
Yeah I think there are maybe 3 people who pivoted to EBs and another 3-4 to MMs but that’s literally all of them from americas and don’t know the headcount but I am assuming that isn’t very promising
